Nofel Ahmed Mahmood, a 23-year-old male who lives with a disability, faced financial difficulties and limited job opportunities after completing his education and could not provide for his family. Thanks to Caritas Czech Republic, he registered in on-the-job training and found an opportunity to work as a teacher and practice his profession. Today, Nofel has a job he enjoys and now has a steady income to support his family.

Meet the five electrical engineers who were hired by the same company after participating in on-the-job training, organised by Caritas Czech Republic

Aland, Ahmed, Mostafa, Omar, and Mo’men are all fresh young graduates from Kirkuk, Iraq, who participated in Caritas Czech Republic’s project and received two months of on-the-job training. Later they were hired by the same company they received their training from. These five young men are now working in their profession, thanks to Caritas Czech Republic.

Hadia from Iraq lost her home because of the Islamic State. Now she can live in dignity thanks to Caritas Czech Republic

At first glance, Hadia's home is not very different from other ones. Only the plastic on the ceiling and the lack of windows show that it is a makeshift shelter. Nevertheless, it looks like a home that is carefully taken care of by its inhabitants. Hadia's and her husband are among the internally displaced persons who have fled attacks by the self-proclaimed Islamic State. Caritas Czech Republic is helping them to live in dignity.

Diyari found a job and can provide for her family thanks to Caritas Czech Republic in Iraq

Diyari Salam, a 24-year-old female from Kirkuk, has long wanted to find a reliable job to support her family financially. She lives with her sick mother and four siblings, the father left them without any support. She applied to many places after graduation but had not found a job. Yet, she found the kind of work she wanted the most after participating in the On-the-Job Training project organised by Caritas Czech Republic in Iraq. Thanks to the training, Diyari has a job she likes and an income to cover her family's expenses.

Maysun had to flee her home because of the Islamic State. Today, she runs a successful restaurant in Iraq

Being a single mother is not easy, especially in a country like Iraq. As the head of her family, Maysun has long struggled financially and has barely been able to support her loved ones. Her situation worsened when the self-declared Islamic State took over her town, and Maysun and her family had to leave for several years. Upon return, she found out that her house had been robbed. Caritas Czech Republic helped Maysun to have a fresh start and open her own restaurant.
