Full name of project: Emergency shelter and NFI assistance to improve living conditions of most vulnerable families in the districts of Zakho and Sumel in Duhok governorate
- Project duration: October 2019 - July 2020
- Description: CCR in partnership with Sahara Economic Development Organization (SEDO) supported severely vulnerable families living in unfinished and abandoned buildings, in Sumel and Zakho in Dohuk Governorate, by providing them with crucial non-food items (NFI). These included mattresses, pillows, blankets, quilts, kitchen sets, cooking stoves, plastic sheets, solar lamps and jerrycans for water and fuel, and sealing-off kits (SoKs) with which CCR could support in the rehabilitation of critical shelters. The total number of internally displaced people, returnees and refugees that directly benefited from the implementation was 25,512. The people also benefited from job opportunities created by our implementing partners (UN-HABITAT among them) to complete the project activities, including full-time skilled staff and temporary unskilled staff.
