Emergency Humanitarian Assistance for Vulnerable Internally Displaced Families

Full name of project: Emergency humanitarian assistance for vulnerable internally displaced families in Berseve 1 Camp

  • Project duration: July 2018 - February 2019
  • Description: Camp Berseve 1 is located in northern Iraq and serves people displaced by the recent violence, mainly Yazidis. In this project, CCR provided basic water, sanitation and hygiene services to people in the camp. Through a Cash for Work methodology, it offered temporary job opportunities to over 160 vulnerable households to meet their basic needs for at least one month through their involvement in the project. The team finished the construction of 800 latrine blocks in the camp (for each targeted family) in order to replace the communal latrines that did not meet accessibility and privacy requirements. The project targeted a total of 8,838 individuals.
  • Donors: Secours Catholique - Caritas France and the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
