Improve Living Conditions for Vulnerable Internally Displaced Families

Full name of project: Improve living conditions for vulnerable internally displaced families in Kabarto 1 Camp through continuous and quality support for the primary healthcare center

  • Project duration: July 2019 - February 2020
  • Description: CCR, in partnership with Secours Catholique - Caritas France, supported the healthcare center in Kabarto 1 camp, Sumel District in the governorate of Duhok, as the families there lack adequate access to healthcare services. The only primary healthcare center suspended providing the services due to lack of government funding. Thanks to this project, approximately 14,000 internally displaced people could access high quality primary health services within the vicinity of the camp. Through specialized health staff (doctors, nurses, dentists, midwife and drivers), CCR was able to provide clinical consultations, reproductive health services, laboratory tests and medical supplies.
CCR appreciates the support of the Directorate of Health in Dohuk who had significant inputs towards achieving the projects' objectives.
  • Donor: Secours Catholique - Caritas France.
