3D-printed Medical Supplies for Medical Facilities in Nineveh Governorate (2018-2019)

Full name of project: 3D-printed medical supplies for medical facilities in Nineveh governorate

  • Project duration: June 2018 - February 2019
  • Description: In order for Iraqis to be able to go back to the areas affected by the recent conflict, they need functioning services and basic healthcare. CCR helped with this process by simplifying the repairs and maintenance of medical devices and reducing the costs of 3D-printing technology in Mosul city. During the implementation period, 11 devices were repaired (i.e. incubators, ECGs, shoulder rehabilitation device) in four hospitals. CCR also procured parts of devices not repairable by 3D-printing and crucial medical supplies. Hospital staff attended medical and technical trainings on how to operate these 3D printers in order to keep them in use even after the end of the project. By ensuring the availability and usage of the equipment and supplies, CCR also ensured that the patients did not have to wait for so long or travel to other locations to receive the needed treatment.
